Lost on the Farm

You know Spring is here when I get lost with farm chores, disappearing from Bloggerville. So much to do and not enough time in the day. Fences need to be fixed, soil in the garden needs to be tilled, and baby animals need to be oogled and cuddled.

Even last years buck waits for me to bring him treats. Welcome to the farm of spoiled creatures!

I also have been busy hatching and tending to Silkie chickens. Yup, very lost, but fear not I shall have useful things to say about writing soon. Enjoy the pictures and may it bring some Spring your way.

I know the feeling! It's crazy-busy on the homestead right now.

What kind of chicks are those from the speckled eggs?

I've been working outside in the garden a lot too. And we visited a farm last week and my kids *loved* holding the baby goats. Adorable all around. I wanted some for a few minutes! Have fun!

Oh my goodness, aren't you lucky. I would love to live on a farm. I think I missed my calling. Enjoy :)

Wonderful pictures. Still puzzled as to what oogled means. Cuddled, yes, but I think I might be uncomfortable if somebody oogled me.

My busy season is limited to one month in September when I have bags and bags and bags and bags of damsons to stone and turn into Jam which nobody but me eats, Damson pies which only me and my daughter eats, and damson wine - gallons of the stuff...There must be more to life than an aching back and fingers stained the colour of a fifty a day smoker.

Super fun! I have to say, I don't think I could do it. Allergies--but I have loved the brief times I got to visit the farm. Shoot me message when you get back from the, uh, spring rush. =)

Ooh, so ridiculously cute! I have a fondness for goats--my first published piece was about goats used for weed-eating in Boulder :) Thanks for sharing!
