Week Three: Dark YA Movie and Music Fun

Welcome to week three of I love dark YA and thank you hosts at YAtopia. I would love to see The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan come to the big screen.

Why should it go to the big screen? Here is a blurb from Goodreads.

In Mary's world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth. But, slowly, Mary’s truths are failing her. She’s learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness. When the fence is breached and her world is thrown into chaos, she must choose between her village and her future—between the one she loves and the one who loves her. And she must face the truth about the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Could there be life outside a world surrounded in so much death?

Coming soon to a theater near you, The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Starring Selena Gomez as Mary.

Theme song by Linkin Park, "Waiting for the End."

Who would you add to the cast?

I truly enjoyed The Forest of Hands and Teeth. I've been meaning to read books 2 and 3.

I'm so bad at figuring out which actors should play in a movie version of a book. I did a playlist instead.

I haven't read this book yet but I do own it because I've been intending to read it for a while now.

Love the theme song though...

I think this would make a great movie, too. Oh, and Selena Gomez? Too funny. (You were trying to be funny, right?)

That's an interesting choice. Never took Selena Gomez to be the, you know, Mary-kind :P

This book would make a great movie! Oh course, the book freaked me out, so in movie form it probably would do the same... :)

Ha! I cast Selena Gomez too. I think we both want her to go a little darker. She's so sweet and innocent.
