Whats on your pre-order list

So, yea I have been thinking and mulling...mulling and thinking on what to chat about today.  I am in a jubilant mood, sun is out this gorgeous New England day.  Went and stopped for coffee at my blogger buds cribs.

Also got some good reads in.  The House of Night Series (Marked, Betrayed, Chosen, Untamed,  Hunted, Tempted).  I got a bit addicted in the life of Zoey and the rest of the fledglings.  A book full of great characters and drama.  The next book, Burned, comes out at the end of the month.  Can't wait!

A new favorite series of mine by Chloe Neill is Some Girls Bite: A Chicagoland Vampire Novel.  You won't be disappointed with this series.  Twice Bitten will be released in July.  Merit is a total kick-ass chick!

Mocking Jay, the last book of the Hunger Games series will be out in August.  I can't stop raving about The Hunger Games and Catching Fire.  I'm trying to get hubby to get the audiobooks.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephanie Myer, June.

There are a bunch of middle grade books that my daughter will enjoy.  Like most kids she mostly pokes through my stash of YA books.  I am having fun reading the same books as her!

Curiosity has me wondering what is on your pre-order list and what good books have I missed that I need to add.

The Lovely Bones

I had a couch potato weekend.  Relaxing watching movies with friends and family.  I locked my alter ego in the closet and there were no crafty happenings this weekend.  Besides watching the last two episodes of Vampire Diaries (Damon was sooo evil!  I cringed when he pulled out his friends heart, Yikes! I swear I'm not a teenager, lol.) Oh yes, I wanted to say I also watched The Lovely Bones.  Based on a book by Alice Sebold.

I heard mixed reviews but I really liked it!  By the end of the movie I was all emotional and felt horrible for Suise Salmon played by Saoirse Ronan.  I think Saoirse did an amazing job-her narration was almost hypnotic.

I'm curious about the book now.  Wow, I watched a movie first before reading the book!

Who would not want to turn the page after that.

                     It was a tough subject to watch but it was done well.  I did send the kids out of the room when I realized what was going to happen.  It made for good conversation about stranger danger before they were bribed with candy to play upstairs....sorry I had to watch it!

                         I would watch this movie again!  Still sobbing about it on this Monday morning.     I can imagine how emotional the book will be.

Harry Potter, The Cat in the Hat, Twilight,The Divinci Code, Angels and Demons, Where the Wild Things Are.  You name the book and it seems to be coming to the big screen-across all genres!

How do you as a writer feel about this?

How do you as a reader feel about this?

For me it depends on the book/movie.  I won't watch the movie-usually-unless I read the book first.  The book gives more details and makes me feel more attached to the actor/ess playing the part of the characters that I already like.

Other times I hate the movie for taking a story and twisting the scenes and ruining the story I love.  It is like a knife searing through my heart twisting as I cringe watching it.

These types of movies you don't want me to watch with you...trust me. I am like a backseat driver complaining and waving my hands in the air "Thats not what happened," and "Why didn't they do this or that!"

The hubby thinks I am temporarily insane because he has no clue what I am talking about because he does not read.

It is why I like to go with my friends who have read the book.  The movie theaters hate us as we sit there and gossip through the whole movie.

We were so bad during New Moon!  I might have brusied my friends arm when Jacob took his shirt off (blushing)!

I was cleaning the bathroom and it was staring there beckoning me to take a peek.  Curiosity got the best of me.  What the heck could possibly be in there?  Flipping through the pages it was surprisingly interesting, who knew!

For all my writing bloggy buddies these are for you.  You seriuosly can get good ideas to add in a story with this book.  I have a feeling I might add bits of advice from the batroom reader on a regular basis!
